Yam Puree with Steak and Roasted Vegetables

Yam Puree
- Cut yam into tiny cubes, and boil till very soft (till it falls easily off a fork)
- While still hot, place boiled yam in a blender or food processor, add some salt, the milk or heavy cream (or use water), with the butter and blend till smooth. (A whisk can also be used for this)
- Set aside
Roasted Vegetables
- Clean your carrots, beets and bell peppers, toss with some olive oil and 2 tsp each of the IHOF All purpose and Garlic seasonings
- Roast in a preheated oven (using the grill setting) at 400 deg F for 10-15 minutes (may be longer or shorter depending on your oven)
Steak
- Season your steaks with the remaining IHOF seasonings and salt, let sit for about 10 minutes
- In a saucepan, heat up some oil (using medium heat, this takes about 2 minutes), add the seasoned steaks and cook for 4 minutes, flip over and cook for another 3 minutes, basting occasionally. (Please note: this is for medium rare. Cook the steaks longer for a greater degree of doneness).
- Remove the steaks from the pan and let rest a few minutes before serving
